Putin started the refit of the floating mansion, which has now been renamed Kosatka, when his other yacht was detained in Italy.
Photos taken in Yantar in the Russian enclave Kaliningrad show construction work taking place on the outside of the megayacht.
A brochure for the upgrade shows plans for a tasteless gold bathroom complete with a gold freestanding bathtub in the centre.
The dictator, whose forces are bombing women and children in Ukraine, has spared no expense on the refit which includes a gold-lined master suite, crystal chandeliers, plush carpets, and expensive artwork.
Putin’s official salary is only £107,000 a year but he is believed to have amassed a £200 billion fortune of palaces, private jets, and yachts.
The Kosatka, which translates as Killer Whale, was previously docked at a yard in Germany but was rushed out of the country to Russia just before Putin ordered his army to invade Ukraine.
The yacht then sailed to Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave on the Baltic Sea sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania where our pictures were taken.
It is now believed to be in St Petersburg while his other yacht, the £750 million Scheherazade, remains in a marina in Tuscany having been detained by Italian authorities.
