Bruno Fernandes keeps it real with Sainsbury’s shopping trip after Man Utd’s top four finish

This morning, BRUNO FERNANDES stopped by Sainsbury’s to pick up some supplies.

The Portuguese star played last night as Manchester United secured their spot in the Champions League for the following campaign.

With just one game left, Erik ten Hag’s team defeated Chelsea 4-1 at Old Trafford to pull six points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool.

After Wesley Fofana fouled him in the box during the game, Fernandes, 28, scored from the penalty spot.

The offensive midfielder also hit the crossbar earlier in the game after Jadon Sancho set him up.

After scoring a goal last night, Fernandes stopped by Sainsbury’s to pick up a few necessities.

He took two bottles of Cravendale milk and a multi-pack of Highland Spring water.

because last night’s game, Fernandes described United’s participation in the Champions League as a “obligation” because they were excluded the year prior.

It’s hardly a relief, he said. I believe everyone understood how crucial it was for us to be in the top four.

“I believe that everyone was simultaneously firmly sure that we would succeed.

“We ought to have done it a little bit earlier in the season, but obviously we had those two away games where we didn’t get any points and it complicated our counts, but we get it today and that’s the most crucial thing,” said the player.

“This club is kind of required to be in these positions.”

On Sunday, Man United plays Fulham at home to end their Premier League campaign.

A victory would guarantee third place, but a draw or a loss would give Newcastle the opportunity to overtake them.

The focus of the Red Devils will then shift to the FA Cup final on June 3, when they face rival Manchester City beneath the Wembley arch.
