It comes after news that her boyfriend, Asensio, is about to sign a new deal with Real Madrid, ending long talks with the Spanish team.
The forward’s future has been uncertain lately because his current contract is set to end in the summer and a number of teams are interested in getting him for free.
Asensio had been on the edge of Carlo Ancelotti’s team at the start of the season, so it seemed like he would leave at the end of the season.
But since the World Cup, he has played a bigger part, and Ancelotti also wants the Spanish star to stay. Now, the Athletic says that they expect Asensio to make a long-term commitment to the club.
Asensio has been a member of Real Madrid’s roster for nine years after he was signed from Real Mallorca, but he hasn’t played for the first team until 2016.A year later, he signed a new deal, which is almost up for renewal.
The report says that even though an agreement is likely, there are still talks going on about how long the contract will be.
Terms of four and five years are still being talked about, as is a salary deal that matches these terms. However, this doesn’t seem to be a big problem for either side.
Asensio has been linked to Arsenal, Newcastle, and Barcelona in recent months. However, he seems much happy to stay at the Bernabeu now that he is getting more playing time.
In his last nine games, he has scored five goals. Over the Easter weekend, he played 90 minutes in back-to-back LaLiga games for the first time this season, but Madrid lost 3-2 at home to Villarreal after beating Real Valladolid 6-0.
In the coming weeks, talks are likely to slow down, as Madrid’s main attention is now on the Champions League. On Wednesday night, they play Chelsea in the quarterfinals.
When they lost at the weekend, their actual chances of winning LaLia were almost over. With just 10 games left, they are 13 points behind rivals Barcelona.
They will want to finish ahead of Atletico Madrid, which is only two points behind them and has won five straight games.
