Manchester United winger Antony is recovering from an injury after being carried off on a stretcher during the match against Chelsea.
There is a real risk that Antony will miss the FA Cup final after picking up an injury against Chelsea.
The winger fell over after trying to dribble between two Chelsea players and had to be stretched.
The extent of his injury has yet to be clarified by the club, although coach Erik ten Hag ominously said after the game was “serious”.
Antony will be assessed by Manchester United medical staff in the coming days.
Losing him in the cup final would be a disappointment, with his former Ajax team-mate, Lisandro Martinez, having been ruled out with a broken ankle.
The club’s official Instagram account wished Antony a “good recovery”.
He responded with a couple of emojis, looking more hopeful than positive.
Antony also responded to a text from Jadon Sancho to congratulate him on showing up.
Sancho was moved to the right to replace Antony and did well, showing that United can do without the Brazilian if needed, although his absence would not be ideal.
